  Thallus evanescent. Apothecia 0.2–0.7 mm wide, flat to convex; exciple entire to crenate; disc opaque, deep yellow; paraphyses septate with annulate, club-shaped apices. Ascospores 8 per ascus, simple, 14–20 × 5–6 µm.
     
  Widely distributed throughout the northern and southern hemispheres. Only one collection from S.A. has been positively determined in Australia.
