Callistemon pallidus 'Candle Glow'

Originally registered as: Callistemon 'Austraflora Candle Glow'

ORIGIN: Callistemon 'Candle Glow' was a chance seedling Callistemon pallidus raised by Austraflora Nursery of Montrose, Victoria. The original plant was purchased by Jeff Briggs of Bursaria Avenue, Ferntree Gully in 1973. In 1976 the plant was repropagated by Austraflora for release to the public. Cultivar received by the Authority 30 November 1979. The applicant is Austraflora Nursery, Belfast Road, Montrose, Victoria.

DESCRIPTION: Callistemon 'Candle Glow' is a prostrate form of Callistemon pallidus. This cultivar grows to 100mm tall by plus/minus 2.5m across. All other botanical details of the cultivar are as for C. pallidus.

DIAGNOSIS: This cultivar is readily distinguished from the rest of C. pallidus by its prostrate habit.
