Australia's Biodiversity – it matters
Tim Entwisle
Dr Tim Entwisle has twelve year’s experience in the senior management of botanic gardens, in Melbourne and Sydney, and was appointed Executive Director of the Botanic Gardens Trust, Sydney in 2004.
He is an internationally recognised plant scientist with specialist expertise in freshwater algae but a broad interest in horticulture and biodiversity. Dr Entwisle is author of over 70 scientific publications, including three books, and has chaired numerous national and State committees.
He was recently appointed the 12 th New South Wales Government Botanist, an honorary position dating back to 1817 (then Colonial Botanist) and filled intermittently until 1985.
Dr Entwisle is also a regular contributor to ABC Sydney radio and writes occasionally for popular science and nature magazines. |
