Plant identification service

Free

Plant identification services for non-commercial enquiries by members of the general public and amateur organizations. Batches must be less than ten specimens.

Plant identification service  

$25.00 per specimen (standard charge) $13.00 per specimen (reduced rate)

Plant identification services. The standard charge applies to plant identification services for commercial enquiries or for batches greater than 10 specimens.

Reduced rate applies when suitable specimens are given to the Australian National Herbarium; where specimens were collected as part of a collaborative project with the ANBG or Centre for Plant Biodiversity Research; where low-level identification (eg to genus level) is required; or for large projects.

General botanical information services

Free

Information services for members of the general public and amateur organizations where the service requires less than one hour.

Professional botanical information services

Based on an hourly rate for APS 6.3 salary (currently $37.20 per hour inc GST). Minimum charge of three hours ($111.60 inc GST).

Professional botanical information services including literature searches, data queries, data entry, taxonomic and nomenclature validity checks, proofreading of botanical manuscripts. Charges are based on an hourly rate for providing these services. Hourly charges are linked to the salary scale of an DEH Level 6.3.

Collection and distribution of plant material from the Gardens' collections.
Note: A plant material release agreement must also be obtained for this service

Based on an hourly rate of APS 4.3 (currently $29.06 inc GST) ² Minimum charge of two hours ($58.12 inc GST).

Plant material release from the Gardens collections to approved organizations for approved purposes. Charges are based on an hourly rate for valuing, collecting and processing material, quarantine clearance and related services. Hourly charges are linked to the salary scale of an DEH Level 4.3.

Self-guided tours

Free

Self-guided tour materials for education groups, materials may be downloaded from the website at no cost.

Standard 'Explainer' facilitated education program.

$4.00 per student Minimum charge $40.00 per group. Longer presentations may be arranged at an additional cost of $29.00 per hour inc GST

Standard facilitated education program based on a one-hour presentation with around 12 students. Longer presentations can be arranged if staff are available.

Specialist facilitated education programs

Programs based on hourly rate (currently $41.00 per hour)  

Customised programs involving use of Gardens facilities and equipment. Programs may include: specialist training and lectures; school holiday programs and recreational programs. A separate charge may be made for materials: Cost + 15% administration cost + GST

‘The Gardens’ Classroom’ education program.

$4.00 - $12.00 per student depending on type of program. Minimum charge $100 per group.  

An ‘all day’ educational program for primary students. ‘The Gardens Classroom’ may be restricted to teachers who have attended relevant professional development training. A separate charge may be made for materials: Cost + 15% administration cost + GST

Description

Commercial full day hire of:

Subject to availability. Fees for half day or less are 75% of fees for full day. Weekend and after hours (before 8.30am and after 5pm) – 100% loading plus $150.00 security fee. Staff assistance for set-up – 100% loading. Concession rates for non-profit groups related to ANBG – 60% of hire rate (8.30am to 5pm only). For commercial activities relevant to the activities of the ANBG, a charge not exceeding 15% of gross turnover may also be levied.

Weddings – site hire

Outdoor or indoor sites reserved for weddings and associated wedding photography. Costs include staff and licensee assistance in organization, set-up and limited transport to the selected site. Maximum use period three hours.

Wedding management is carried out by Café operator and may be subject to additional charges.
