Council of Heads of Australasian Herbaria
Born in 1927, died in Perth 3 July 1991.
(Comments below from Nik Lander who shared a room with Ted for some years when he first came to Perth):
Ted was Anglo-Burmese. He was educated in India and later Australia. He worked at first in Melbourne on wood-decaying fungi, then at the WA Herbarium as an identification botanist. During the John Green years he did much of the administrative work of the Herbarium. He had a phenomenal knowledge of the WA flora. He was especially interested in poisonous plants.
Ted collected over 6,000 specimens for the WA Herbarium: details can be retrieved via Florabase (registration needed).
Similarly, a list of Ted's publications can be found via the following WA Conservation Library search.
