Geologist; stationmaster for Tas. Railways at Waratah & Sulphur Creek.

Keen collector, esp. fossils at Table Cape, Tas. Also collected algae in 1884; visited Hunter Is., 1889; Three Hummocks Is. 1889; Albany, W.A., 1893-97 incl. visit to Coolgardie district, 1894-95.

Commemorated in Sherbornina (fossil).
