Born in Singleton, NSW, the seventh of nine children, to settlers Theophilus Bournet Foot (c.1811-1896) and Ellen nee Nesbit (c.1819-1908).
In 1862, the family moved to Qld and ran 'Moravia Downs', and then 'Warrinilla Station'. In 1882, Ellen married Frederick Walter Biddulph (1855-1898) of 'Mount Playfair Station', and they had seven children.
Ellen collected MEL specimens at 'Cungelella Station', Nogoa, Nogoa River, and Springsure, 1890.
In 1917, Ellen died in the Springsure Hospital after a month's illness at the age of 62.
