Ph.D. (Research) in Geography. Thesis: "The vegetation of the Robertson Plateau, New South Wales: historical and contemporary issues".

Referee for the nomination of the Blue Mountains Swamps as a vulnerable community under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Has refereed manuscripts for Australian Geographical Studies and Austrobaileya. Also involved with voluntary editing of Flora of Australia Acacia treatments, writing journal papers, reviewing threatened species and ecological community nominations.
