Born in WA, 1851; died in Torquay, England, 1930.
One of six children to George Edward Egerton Warburton (1819-1889), a soldier and settler, and Augusta Spencer. The family ran 'St Werburgh's Estate' on the Hay River.
Mary collected MEL specimens on the upper Hay
including types of:
Hypoxis occidentalis Benth. (1873),
Hypoxis leptantha Benth. (1873),
Pterostylis recurva Benth. (1873),
Xerotes purpurea var. capitata Benth. (1878), and
Gahnia aristata Benth. (1878).
Mary married Dr Cecil Rogers (1838-1914), a medical officer at Albany. They did not have any children.
Mary and her husband left WA in 1887. They lived in Ashsprington, England.
Mary died in Torquay in 1930 in her 79th year.
