FOUNDATION: |
The Herbarium of the Northern Territory (NT) was founded in Alice Springs in 1954. A separate collection was started in Darwin (DNA) in late 1966.In 1989 the bulk of the collections in Alice Springs were shifted to Palmerston to combine with DNA which had relocated from Berrimah, a suburb of Darwin. The collection at Alice Springs, still referred to as NT, remains as a reference collection for the arid zone of the Northern Territory. |
