Standard petal main colour (front of petal)
The main colour on the front (inside) of the standard petal. This usually refers to the ‘background’ colour where a basal band or flare is present. Note that there are usually intergrades between various colours (e.g. orange vs. yellow; purple vs. pink vs. blue, etc.) leading to some subjectivity in interpretation (more than one state can be chosen). This character is only applicable to fresh material as petals often change colour on drying.
