Summer Research Studentship Program

Fungal pathogen trials on Cakile maritima undertaken as a Summer Research Studentship.

The Centre’s Summer Research Studentship program has continued to prove both popular and extremely successful. The program aims to encourage continued involvement of young people in science, provide opportunities for ‘on-the-job’ experience and raise the profile of the Centre as a potential place for postgraduate studies. A modest stipend is provided from Centre funds or external sources. Although the completion of a publishable piece of work is not the aim of this program, since its inception students have been involved in the authorship of several scientific manuscripts.
