Thryptomene ericaea (Mat Heath Myrtle)

Centenary Starburst

Thryptomene ericaea is unique to South Australia. It occurs on Kangaroo Island and, to a lesser extent, on lower Eyre Peninsular.

Centenary Starburst is a striking, medium sized shrub which grows on Kangaroo Island in mallee eucalypt vegetation.

It grows from 0.5 to 1.2 metres in height. In spring its stems or pink-tinged buds burst into dainty white flowers.
