Using bush plants

Suitable for school years 4 -12 and adults

Take a stroll along the signed Aboriginal walk, see some of the valued plants and discover some traditional Aboriginal uses of Australia's native plants.

DIY explorer

A brochure entitled 'Aboriginal Plant Use Walk' is available from the Visitor Centre or can be downloaded here.

The Gardens has an interpretive walk that starts a short distance along the Main Path from the cafe. The directional and interpretive signs along this walk are marked by a distinctive Aboriginal shield motif.

The brochure contains useful information about a range of plants, some of which occur on the interpretive walk.  Some teacher preparation might be useful.

Botanical expedition

Join our experienced Guides on a Botanical Expedition in small groups of 10-12 students for a one hour session.

Guides take students for a hands-on experience of our extensive artifacts collection, and then on to investigate living plants in the Gardens.
