The Gardens welcomes donations from individuals and corporations to support our work.

You can support the work of the Garden’s by donating to the National Parks Conservation Trust or the Friends of the Australian National Botanic Gardens.

All donations over $2 are tax deductible.

National Parks Conservation Trust

The National Parks Conservation Trust is the charity partner of Parks Australia. It works to deliver conservation with lasting benefit for plants, animals and people in and around Australia’s remarkable Commonwealth national parks and Gardens. Your dollars go directly to your selected project.

The National Parks Conservation Trust provides opportunities for the community to support important conservation projects at the Gardens.

National Seed Bank – Seed the Future

Support the development of the new National Seed Bank by participating in the Seed the Future online auction

The Seed the Future online auction has been launched to support the purchase of state-of-the-art specialist equipment to bank more species, uncover germination secrets with modern science techniques, and invest in our volunteers.

You can:

  • Make a general donation
  • Bid on equipment or room - a great way to direct where your donation goes
  • Bid on a framed seed microscope image or a 'Garden Experience'

Every donation makes a real difference to protect Australian plants. Auction closes 23 May 2021.

An everlasting gift

Consider making a lasting impact to protect Australian plants for future generations, through a gift in your Will.

All bequests to the Gardens are managed by the National Parks Conservation Trust, governed by Trustees and their finance committee, on behalf of the Gardens. The Executive Director of the Gardens is the Ex-Officio board member for the National Parks Conservation Trust. This structure ensures funds left to the Gardens are securely invested and made available to the Gardens when it is most needed.

Friends of the Australian National Botanic Gardens

The Friends of the Australian National Botanic Gardens increase community awareness of the scientific, educational, recreational and conservation functions of the Gardens, and provide activities for the benefit and pleasure of their members.

The Friends of the Gardens have established a Public Fund which aims to attract donations to finance worthwhile projects within the Gardens - projects of the kind that could not be financed from the Gardens’ budget.
