Today we start in the Sydney Region Gully and return via the Main Path

  1. As you enter the Sydney Region Gully notice on the left the short spires of pink bloom along the stems of Epacris purpurascens [Section 191h].
  2. Further along on the left is Phebalium squamulosum subsp. lineare [Section 191h], which has fluffy yellow flowers on a tall shrub with yellow green foliage.
  3. Logania albiflora [Section 191h] has sprays of small white flowers with a sweet perfume on a sparse shrub.
  4. Epacris calvertiana var. calvertiana [Section 191j] has cream tubular bells all over a dense bush.
  5. Tetratheca thymifolia [Section 191j] is a small neat bush with purplish pink bells.
  6. Acacia gordonii [Section 191e] has dark golden balls of flower on a small shrub.
  7. Acacia leucoclada subsp. argentifolia [Section 191l]is a tree of grey-green foliage with bright golden balls of flower.
  8. Grevillea aspleniifolia [Section 191l] is a large sprawling bush with linear leaves and reddish toothbrush flowers.
  9. Acacia fimbriata [Section 18] or Fringed Wattle is a small tree with linear leaves and yellow balls of flower.
  10. A small bush with four rows of neatly arranged leaves and red/yellow pea flowers is Eutaxia obovata [Section 18].
  11. Acacia phasmoides [Section 18] or Phantom Wattle is a sparse shrub with long thin leaves and pale yellow ball flowers.
  12. Helichrysum elatum [Section 18] has papery white flowers on bold grey furry foliage.
  13. Acacia venulosa [Section 18] is an erect shrub with leathery oblong phyllodes and golden-yellow ball flowers.
  14. Acacia decora [Section 18] or Showy Wattle forms a medium bush of fine curved phyllodes with stunning golden ball flowers.
  15. Acacia cognata [Section 18] is a tree of fine weeping foliage and small pale yellow balls of flower.
  16. Acacia guinetii [Section 20] has soft dusty green foliage and bright yellow balls of flower.
  17. Hakea recurva [Section 20] has vicious spiky foliage and bears white curled clusters of flower high up.
  18. Hakea purpurea [Section 20] has lipstick pink pincushion flowers on spiky foliage.
  19. Gastrolobium celsianum [Section 15r] or Swan River Pea has red curved pea flowers amongst grey-green foliage.
