"One of Australia's foremost women naturalists. Mrs. Anton Messmer, of Sydney. will be passing through Adelaide next month with her husband on her way to England. Mrs. Messmner specialises in the study of Australian orchids and has discovnered new species and written notable papers on these fascinating plants. She is not merely a stay-at-home scientist, but goes out to the haunts of orchids and has made some adventurous trips in Queensland and the wilds of New South Wales.
At Bithongabel, her charming North Shore home, she grows her favorite plants in bush-house and conservatory and she is also an authority on Australian ferns.
Mrs. Messmer is. also a close observer of native birds' and their ways. She is taking her herbarium collection of dried orchids and ferns to the Royal Botanic Garden. Kew. England, for inspection."
