Olsen, Michael Francis (Mike)   (1954 -  )

Born 1954 in Brisbane.

He joined the staff of Queensland Herbarium in the mid 1970s.

In the 1980s he left the Qld Herbarium for university studies.

In 1989 he was awarded a PhD from University of Queensland for a thesis titled:

'Aspects of the ecology and physiology of rainforest systems following large scale natural disturbance' by Michael Francis Olsen.

"Mike has more than forty years' experience in landscape assessment, particularly with regard to the native flora and fauna of Queensland. Mike has been commissioned to undertake surveys and analyses of vegetation at scales ranging from individual site environmental impact assessments to Shire wide and regional vegetation and natural landscape projects. These programs have been extended in the last decade to similar tasks in the nearby South-East Asian and South-West Pacific regions."
