Worked in cytology, phytogeography and evolutionary aspects of the Australian flora, especially Liliaceae sens lat.
Collecting focused on Bulbine, live collections for cytological study, vouchers lodged at Australian National Herbarium CANB.
In 1985 spent six months as Visiting Researcher at the Botanical Institue of the University of Vienna.
