Duties of the Herbarium Registrar include assigning unique numbers for all new accessions to the Australian National Herbarium (ANH), allocating unique numbers to authorised Australian National Botanic Gardens (ANBG) staff for living accessions; undertaking or overseeing entry and updating of field book and label data into the herbarium database (ANHSIR); providing specimen labels, other database output and advice as required; and supervising and/or training other staff undertaking ANHSIR data entry at the ANH and ANBG. In addition, I have responsibility for maintaining the Poaceae (grass family) specimen collection at the ANH.
