  Thallus epiphyllous, often forming extensive patches, pale greenish grey to pale grey-green to yellowish grey, continuous, moderately to markedly glossy, smooth to minutely uneven; prothallus usually not apparent. Algae Phycopeltis; cells somewhat rounded, angular or irregular, not forming radiating plates. Perithecial verrucae convex (and spreading at the base), 0.3–0.7 mm diam.; wall containing a layer of colourless crystals; apex plane to rounded; periostiolar area concolorous to pale to medium reddish brown and up to 0.2 mm diam. Involucrellum apical and ±vestigial to dimidiate. Exciple 10–15 µm thick, pale yellowish brown. Asci narrowly obclavate, 75–100 × 9–16 µm. Ascospores fusiform, 29–38 × 5–6 µm, often tapering noticeably towards the proximal end; perispore thin or not apparent. Pycnidia in convex to hemispherical c. 0.15 mm diam. verrucae. Conidia fusiform, 2–4 × c. 0.7 µm.
