Porina bacillifera Müll.Arg.
     
  Flora 65: 517 (1882). T: Daintree River, Qld, T.Pentzke; holo: G; iso: MEL.  
     
  Thallus epiphloeodal, continuous, pale khaki-grey to pale grey-brown, slightly glossy, smooth, 40–70 µm thick, lacking a black basal layer; prothallus not apparent. Algae Trentepohlia; cells 6–12 × 6–10 µm. Perithecial verrucae strongly convex, 0.32–0.54 mm diam.; wall containing a layer of colourless crystals; apex rounded; ostiole inconspicuous or in a shallow depression; periostiolar area concolorous or medium to dark brown and 50–150 µm diam. Involucrellum apical to dimidiate. Exciple 12–20 µm thick, pale brown. Centrum 0.15–0.2 mm wide. Asci elongate-cylindrical, c. 80 × 6 µm. Ascospores elongate-fusiform, 3 (–7)-septate, 17–34 × 2.5–4 µm; perispore not apparent. Pycnidia not seen.
     
  Endemic to north-eastern Qld where it is corticolous on rainforest trees.
