Porina longispora Vĕzda

  Thallus epiphyllous, forming small to medium-sized patches, pale green to pale greenish grey, slightly glossy, finely verrucose; verrucae convex, 60–100 µm diam.; prothallus not apparent. Algae Phycopeltis; cells rectangular, forming radiating plates. Perithecial verrucae hemispherical to subglobose, c. 0.4–0.62 mm diam.; surface irregularly uneven; wall containing an uneven layer of colourless crystals; apex plane to rounded; ostiole usually inconspicuous; periostiolar area concolorous or pale reddish brown. Involucrellum apical and ±vestigial to dimidiate. Exciple c. 20 µm thick, pale yellowish brown. Asci ±fusiform or narrowly obclavate, 124–160 × 22–30 µm. Ascospores elongate-fusiform to ±oblong, (13–) 15 (–17)-septate, 84–108 × 6–9 µm; perispore thin or not apparent. Pycnidia not seen.
     
  Known from north-eastern Qld; grows on leaves of shrubs in rainforest. Also in East Africa.
