| Basal squamules persistent, small, 2–3 mm long, 0.5–1 mm diam.; margins slightly crenate and incised. Podetia growing from basal squamules, 1–3 cm tall, 1–2 mm diam., simple, esorediate; cortex smooth to warted; scyphi broad, 2–5 mm diam. with 1–5 central scyphiferous proliferations, in up to 4 tiers. Apothecia marginal, to 12 mm diam., convex, pedicellate, brown. CHEMISTRY: K-, KC-, P+ red. Fumarprotocetraric (major), protocetraric (trace), homosekikaic (major) and sekikaic (trace) acids. | ||
