  Thallus foliose, ±loosely adnate, occasionally pulvinate, 1–5 cm wide, 70–120 µm thick, ±dull leaden grey, or browned. Lobes rotund to oblong, undulate to ±convex, 1–3 mm wide; margins lobulate, sometimes isidiate. Upper surface smooth or roughened, isidiate, or lobulate; isidia squamuliform, occasionally dense. Lower surface not isidiate, often with conspicuous rhizines. Apothecia usually common, laminal, usually adnate, 1.5–4 mm wide; thalline exciple ±lobulate or ocasionally isidiate, usually cream, often with basal hairs, the hairs sometimes microscopic; disc concave to flat or ±convex, reddish brown or blackening. Ascospores ellipsoidal, submuriform, 20–28 × 8–10 µm; apices obtuse. Pycnidia ±submarginal. Conidia 4–5 µm long; apices not swollen.
  Occurs in montane to subalpine regions of Vic. and Tas., but not common. Inhabits eucalypt woodland and forest at the edges of rainforest or near creeks, rivers or lakes; also in New Zealand.
