  As var. hossei, but ... Chemistry: Cortex containing usnic acid. Medulla K+ yellow → red; containing salazinic acid (major), barbatic acid (minor), norstictic acid (trace), protocetraric acid (trace) and consalazinic acid (trace).
  Rare in rainforest canopies and margins in eastern Qld. Also in SE Asia and the Philippines.
