  Thallus foliose, loosely adnate, to 3–5 cm wide. Lobes loosely imbricate, sublinear-elongate, subdichotomously to subirregularly branched; primary lobes 1–2 mm wide, lobulate; laciniae 0.3–1.5 mm wide, often growing over primary lobes, occasionally growing out from lobules in thallus centre, revolute, ascending, coralloid, isidia-like. Upper surface yellow to pale yellow-green, darkening to olive-green, convex, dull, emaculate, smooth at marginal lobes, lacking soredia and isidia; older portions becoming rugulose and cracked. Medulla white. Lower surface ±canaliculate, brown to pale tan; rhizines moderately dense, simple, slender, ±elongate, concolorous or darkening. Apothecia and pycnidia not seen. CHEMISTRY: cortex K-, UV-; medulla K+ yellow then deep red, C-, P+ intense yellow-orange; containing usnic acid, salazinic acid, consalazinic acid, ±norstictic acid (trace) and ±protocetraric acid (trace).
     
  Relatively rare, endemic, on soil or debris in arid shrubland in inland W.A., S.A., N.S.W. and Vic.
