Xanthoparmelia heinarii Elix & J.Johnst.
  Mycotaxon 33: 357 (1988), as heinari. T: Broken Bago State Forest, south of Wauchope, Broken Bago Ra., N.S.W., 31 Aug. 1987, H.Streimann 38549; holo: CANB; iso: BM, CHR, MEL, US.  
  Thallus small-foliose to subcrustose, tightly adnate, to 5–8 cm wide. Lobes moderately imbricate, flat, sublinear, irregularly branched, 0.3–0.8 (–1) mm wide. Upper surface yellow-green, shiny at least at lobe apices, emaculate, becoming irregularly cracked, without soredia; lobe margins smooth, black; isidia in thallus centre, simple, subglobose, then subcylindrical or expanding laterally, rarely branching; isidia apices epicorticate and ultimately erumpent but not sorediate. Medulla white. Lower surface shiny, black; rhizines sparse to moderately dense, simple, 0.1–0.2 mm long, black. Apothecia and pycnidia not seen. CHEMISTRY: cortex K-, UV-; medulla K+ yellow then dark red, C-, P+ yellow; containing usnic acid, norstictic acid (major) and connorstictic acid (minor).
  Very rare, endemic, known only from the type locality. Grows on rock.
