  Thallus epiphyllous, rather inconspicuous, small and scattered or confluent and forming moderately large colonies, continuous, very thin, grey to medium greyish green, smooth, matt; prothallus not apparent. Algae Phycopeltis; cells ellipsoidal to oblong, 8–18 × 4–6 µm, not forming radiating plates. Perithecia superficial, hemispherical to subglobose and slightly attenuated at the base, 0.14–0.25 mm diam., brownish black to black, smooth, usually matt; base surrounded by a comparatively thick 40–60 µm wide pale grey-green to pale yellowish brown thalline rim; apex rounded; ostiole inconspicuous or in a minute papilla. Involucrellum extending almost to exciple base level, uniformly c. 25 µm thick, brown-black, sometimes with a thin thalline covering almost to the apex (visible in thin section only). Exciple 12–15 µm thick, brownish black. Centrum 0.1–0.18 mm wide. Asci cylindrical, cylindroclavate or narrowly obclavate, 65–75 × 9–12 µm. Ascospores bacilliform, oblong or narrowly fusiform, 3-septate, 17–30 × 3–4.5 µm; perispore not apparent. Pycnidia not seen.
     
  Known from Eungella National Park and the Atherton Tableland in north-eastern Qld; grows on leaves of climbers, shrubs and small trees in montane rainforest and forest remnants. Also in Vanuatu.
